What Is Sustainable Fashion?

Have you ever heard of the movement known as “Sustainable Fashion”?
Sustainable fashion, also known as ‘ethical fashion’ or ‘eco fashion’, deals primarily with thought, followed by materials, and production.
There are multiple ways to be sustainable such as buying less and buying key pieces. However, re-using or re-selling items has also become very popular.
According to Forbes Magazine: “Buying second-hand is perhaps one of the easiest ways for consumers to understand that they are, without doubt, choosing a more sustainable option than buying new”. This is also known as a ‘consignment’.

This is exactly what we do here at Pre-Porter Luxury, and you are all becoming a part of this movement.
We want to empower you in letting you know that you are now part of the fashion conscious sector allowing it to become a powerful force of change in the Middle East.
Also, there is nothing more valuable than an item that has withstood the passing of time; and is now in your possession.
We all want to feel good about a purchase, and I don’t know if you have ever felt a little regret or even questioned yourself right after a purchase; so,“thrifting” or buying used is here to now change that.
Just know that by buying used items, you aren’t introducing something new into the waste chain, or even promoting the idea of buying something new – which decreases the need for fast fashion.
Fast Fashion is great. We all know it. But have you ever thought about the people making your clothes? How they get paid cents an hour? Or how that shirt, dress, and 4 pairs of jeans you have only worn a couple of times, and won’t wear again; are going to add up to the waste chain that is already growing at an alarming speed as I write this.

Sustainable fashion is not a trend, and we want to make it a lifestyle. Think of it as ‘pre-loved’ rather than ‘pre-owned’.
